Ligularia Osiris Fantaisie -

The new Osiris series of Ligularias, from Serge Fafard of Quebec, brings some great new selections to this easy, rewarding genus of plants. The leaf underside is a rich, deep burgundy. Clusters of golden yellow daisy like flowers are produced in July. Best in light shade in our climate, but does well in sun with adequate moisture.

Petasites palmatus Golden Palms -

Not really a brand new plant but we are excited to once again offer this great plant. Nowhere near as thuggish as it's Petasites japonicus cousin, given a little space and planted wisely it will surely become one of your favorites. Early in spring, before the leaves come out strange flowers rise from the bare ground, looking like a small army of visitors from another planet. Not exactly showy, they are one of the first things in bloom and to put it kindly a great conversation piece. The real glory comes after the flowers, the glowing, golden yellow, maple-like leaves seem to be self-illuminated. While the color tends to fade to more of a chartreuse in summer it is still an excellent contrast for darker foliage. I have mine growing with Ligularia Britt-Marie Crawford! Loves moisture.

 Ht: 12-15"  Spc: 12-24".

Primula Green Lace -

A compact selection of this showy goldenray with deeply dissected dark green leaves. Bears tall spikes of golden yellow flowers on dark purple stems in summer. Prefers some shade in our hot climate but will do well in sun with lots of moisture.

With Taipei Silk the gorgeous orchid-like flowers are silky white with strokes of purple from the petal tips and thousands of tiny red speckles.

Height:  24"   Space: 18-24".
